Yet Another First

Created: November 24, 2018

This whole "becoming a parent" thing is new to me - brand new, completely foreign.

Last night, I got to feel my child kick for the very first time. Subtle, faint, and yet crashing through my world like a tidal wave. Today, I got to spend the day on this fun project:

I'll try not to ever let the baby know how many curse words were uttered during the transportation and construction of this thing.

There are still so many projects to do, so many things to learn, so much advice to absorb and weed through. The same is true as you learn SuiteScript. There will be all sorts of new ideas, new concepts, new tasks that you'll encounter; it can be overwhelming. You must stay focused on the fact that this is a journey you've embarked on, a long-term investment you're making. It will not pay off immediately; it will be frustrating and stressful at times, but it will also be rewarding in the end.

When you hit one of those frustrating points, slow down. Set aside a few minutes of quiet time to reflect deeply on why you embarked on this journey in the first place. Hold that answer in your mind, keep it close to your heart, and write it down somewhere easily accessible/visible. Focus on your Why, on a single "best next step" at a time, and take that step. Then another. And another. Your patience and efforts will be rewarded.
